I am here in Kenya, but I do not have time for a long entry because of the electricity issue. It is truly a different world here, and I only hope that when I have the time, I will be able to communicate some of what I've seen here. Yesterday we visited the slum of Kibera, where 1 million people live in 1 square mile. We went to an orphanage where over 70 children live in a space 500 square feet in complete and utter squalor. If you have ever seen a Save the Children commercial, you have seen these children. It is a complete contrast to Hekima Place, where the children are clean and fed and loved.

I have always been grateful for what I have, but there is now a new level of gratitude.

I'm shutting duffel bags and charging equipment. I get to spend one more night in my own bed and then two nights on airplanes - ouch! Hopefully, Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy is height compatible. We leave Monday night at 9:30pm and arrive in Nairobi 6am on Wednesday (7 hour time difference). We connect through Heathrow with a ten hour layover. Fortunately, we have a hotel room for the day at the airport. Hopefully I'll have internet when I land, and if I can figure out how to post photos, you will get to see what I'm seeing.

I've almost finished my trip preparations, and now I need to figure out how to pack everything. This is where my obsessive compulsive behavior may come in handy!
